Volunteer's Week 2020
This week, 1st - 7th June 2020 is Volunteer's Week; an annual celebration of the contribution that people make to many charities and organisations in the UK.
At Tawd Vale we have a lot to be thankful for. We currently have over 100 volunteers who regularly support the centre in a variety of different ways.
Over the coming week we'll be looking at the different ways that volunteers support the centre taking each key area in turn. The volunteer 'Leads' for these specific areas will be writing a short piece which will be included. If anything that you read interests you and you'd like to know more or to get involved, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
The first day looks at our Scout Active Support Unit which makes up the bulk of our volunteer workforce and Sue, the SASU Manager, writes:
Scout Active Support Unit
So, what is a SASU and who can be a member?
Easy answer - anyone over 18 can be a member as a scout active supporter and join a Unit that suits your volunteering needs and or skill set.
At Tawd we are so fortunate to have a huge variety of members to support this wonderful place and the skill set we bring is phenomenal. Each person plays a vital part in the running and maintaining of Tawd Vale in their various team roles from our Ground Force, Tawd Tuesdays, TVSG, Estates, Facilities, Activities, Events, Duty Wardens, Shop Staff and our Big Weekend Bunch. It’s one of the most varied roles as an adult volunteer in our County you can participate in and many of these volunteers work in multiple roles throughout the year.
These members are vital and so very much appreciated for all the hard work and effort they put into their roles, so come and join one of the fastest growing sections we have in Merseyside Scouts, and enjoy the fun, laughter, good times and grow our Unit working to make Tawd even more exceptional, special and magical for all.
