Volunteer's Week - Activities
As part of Volunteer's Week 2020 we are looking at how our volunteers support Tawd Vale Adventure Centre.
Today, it's the turn of our Activities team and Pete writes:
Over the last eighteen months we have seen both the use of our activities by groups and the volunteers involved in delivering them go from strength to strength.
Activities at Tawd Vale include:
- Air Rifles
- Bug Hunt
- High All Aboard
- Low Ropes
- Mini Crossbows
- Pond Dipping
In our last financial year, we delivered 920 activities at Tawd Vale with our most popular activity being archery.
This means that we've had to call on a dedicated team of qualified instructors to deliver these activities and the feedback from the groups that have taken part in these activities has been excellent. I'd like to say a huge thank you to these volunteers who have given so much of their time to support us.
Tawd Vale is also really well supported by the team that deliver the Outdoor Skills Weekend each year. They deliver bushcraft sessions at the centre when we ask them and are really supportive too. I'd like to extend a massive thank you to Mike, Dave and the team for this as well.
We're always on the look out for new instructors to support our team. The beauty of supporting the centre in delivering activities is that it also helps to develop and practice your personal skills in coaching and instructing which in turns helps when you need to re-qualify in that activity. We also try to develop the skills of our volunteers by offering other activity courses.
